We also offer on-call medical services in the comfort of hotel rooms, along with ambulance transfers when indicated—services we have been providing for the past 14 years. Greece is one of the top tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. An estimated 27.8 million tourists will visit Greece in 2022 according to the Association Of Greek Tourist Enterprises (SETE). There is a number of reasons why people enjoying their holiday bear a higher risk to be involved in emergency situations such as an acute illness or more complicated cases because of an injury caused by an accident. Data among travelers during vacation show that injuries of any kind, minor or major comprise the leading cause for consulting a physician or for being hospitalized abroad.

Some reasons for this increased risk are:

1. Tourists during vacation are exposed to unfamiliar and perhaps risky environments
2. There are differences in language and communication
3. The so called vacation spirit leads to more risk taking behavior by the tourist

1. Sunburns of any degree
2. Insect bites complicated by a superinfection of the surrounding skin
